I was very pleased with the quality of the program and the professors. My dissertation was in the area of network security. I just completed the doctorate program in Computer Information Systems at Nova. I left the default ratings, it was too difficult to assess. I have battle scars, PTSD, depression, I cry a lot because the experience was so difficult. ITDE is the most difficult program to succeed in. If you can get past all the administrative hurdles. The online doctorate program was my saving grace though. As for NSU, if I knew beforehand of the high cost, the lack in student services and the capitalist mentality, I would have chosen another institution. I learned only 2% of the country succeed in doctorate programs. Getting to the finish line was a miracle. She helped my get through despite many more trials, like 2 car accidents and relocating twice. There was nothing I could do but go home, I had also paid for the Summer Institute and got nothing for it. I flew into Orlando for one evening only just to meet with her from a business trip in Montreal and was headed home to South Florida. I went through 1 committee chair who refused to keep our appointment at the Summer Institute because she was a diva who wanted to have dinner with her friends. Who you know is essential, you cannot get through the hurdles without help. I was fortunate to find someone who helped as much as she could. The Bursar is very strict with payment agreements and pretty heartless. I had to quit and re-enter the program to prevent this and with no student loans I had to pay over $15K out of pocket. I maxed out student loans, I was threatened with being dropped because I was taking too long. I took time out, twice, to care for 2 terminally ill family members at different times. It took 10 years to finish my EdD in ITDE. they're not even accredited!!!! but the faculty will tell you straight to your face not to worry about it. don't waste your time or money for this program at this institution. unless you're a sheep and like to follow the herd. Third, this school is extremely expensive.įind another clinical mental health counseling program. ![]() (yes, class is 3 hours, and no - we do not really learn anything). so be prepared to be bored out of your mind for 3 hours a couple times a week. students ask too many useless questions to take up time and to be heard by the teacher all in the name of participation. I did not learn anything in class that I did not already know or can just read myself from the book. Not only are the 3 hour class lectures not structurally condensed, the majority of the class consists of people asking obvious questions that they can simply google or ask after class instead of wasting class time. Second of all, I personally would not accredit this program. They are in the process of getting accredited, but it is a huge gamble if they do not get accredited.Why waste any more time and money here? First semester in the Master's Program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Not ABA - ignore that).įirst of all, they are not CACREP accredited, at least not yet.
